I love the assisted walking and handbrakes. The controller on the back is so easy to use. When I need to sit, I can flip the backrest and rest until I am ready. When it feels like that might take a while, I can just sit in the other direction and use it as a power wheelchair. And wow, it’s powerful too! The small things like anti-slip lockouts and resistance when walking down a ramp are so nice. My doctor wants me to walk when I can and this Wheelator gives me the confidence to get out more often and do more things. I just wish something like this had been invented several years ago. Power Walker to Motorized Wheelchair

Safety and Design
Pictured Above: Visibility and safety go hand in hand. Each comfort-grip handle features a built-in reflector on the back — ideal for low-light conditions.
Pictured Below: The Wheellator XL can be locked using the handbrakes or electronically via the joystick. Simply press the handbrakes down (instead of up) to lock the device in place — just like a traditional walker.

Electronic Safety
Pictured Above: The rear walker controller lets you switch between Uphill Assist, Physical Therapy Walking Mode, Downhill Assist, multiple speed settings, trip readings, and reverse. When the Wheellator XL is in wheelchair mode, an attendant can use this same controller to power the chair with three speed settings — including reverse — for easy, precise control.

You’ll notice the person needs support from another individual to stay balanced while descending. With a regular walker, the user must constantly fight gravity to maintain control — increasing both the difficulty and the risk of a fall.
Joystick Features

Charging and Batteries
Pictured Above: The charging port for your Wheellator XL is conveniently located on the front of the joystick.
Pictured Below: Simply plug the charger into the port to charge the connected battery. Your Wheellator XL comes with two FAA travel-compliant batteries, though the device operates on only one at a time.
Backrest and Handles
The 2026 Wheellator XL features an adjustable, articulating backrest for greater comfort and versatility.
When using it as a walker and needing to rest, simply face the back support forward, press the handbrakes down to lock the device, and take a seat. It’s peace of mind knowing your walker is also a comfortable place to rest — among many other things.

The Handlebars and Backrest Height Adjusts
Pictured Above: The handlebars are shown in the lowest position. They are fully adjustable in height. To raise or lower them, simply press the gray button on the lower part of the handlebar and slide it up or down.

Pictured Below: The articulating backrest is fully adjustable. Regardless of handlebar height, simply twist the gray knob to raise or lower it — or remove it entirely if preferred.
Storage and Power Management

Pictured Above: When you open the under-seat basket, you’ll find a dedicated battery pouch on the right side. The Wheellator XL comes with two batteries when you select the “I Want a Second Battery for Free” option on the order form at the top of this page. One battery serves as a backup, since the device operates on one battery at a time. You’ll also find the included toolkit stored here.

Motors and Wheels
Pictured Above: The rear wheels measure 8 inches in diameter and each houses a smart brushless electromagnetic motor that operates quietly. Built for the advanced capabilities of the Wheellator XL, these motors are engineered for long-term reliability. The high-quality polyurethane tires are both wear- and weather-resistant.
Pictured Below: The large front wheels also measure 8 inches in diameter. Each front caster is crafted from strong aircraft-grade aluminum — far more durable than plastic — and features a perforated design to reduce weight while improving traction. They swivel freely for effortless maneuverability and steering.
Additionally, every front wheel is equipped with Dura Shock technology to absorb impact from the ground, providing a smoother ride whether the Wheellator XL is used as a walker or a wheelchair.

Does Medicare cover the Wheellator XL? No. Medicare will not pay for the Wheellator XL.
